KARL M ( - BE)
Not exactly minimal and not really techno, but rather a mixture of both. Karl M describes his music as “East Belgian Minimal”. Everything about him is homemade; the melody, the vocals, the beats.
After posting the first fruits of his labour on Soundcloud last April, he was immediately snapped up by a German Berlin-based label which is the Mecca of the minimal scene. Next came the release of his first EP on Trackord Records, going by the name of Fall Up EP and made after he went through a dark period. This becomes clear on the 3 tracks loaded with melancholy and hope which immediately went on to dominate the highest chart positions of the label. It’s a real gem of a record; quality, underground and independent. His next record Shadow EP will be released soon and will contain the titles Underground and K’s Soldier.
