To quote a certain Roots Manuva: “Beakage is a guy with an ear capable of hearing very very deep subsonic frequencies. I think that he could live underwater and understand the squid”. Breakage, aka James Boyle, is above all, curious about all genres of music, from drum ‘n’ bass to dubstep and ending up back with house and he has already written a number of classics. After a notable appearance at the 2010 Ardentes, Breakage has nonetheless raised his game even more this year. His recent single on Island Records, Fighting Fire with Jeff Mills, the voice of Leftfield, has wreaked havoc on dance floors. The track has been named “Hottest Record in the World” on BBC airwaves and has the backing of Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank. He will appear at the Ardentes where he is bound to surprise more than one festivalgoer with the variety of his set.
